Adults
Regular recare appointments: Adult patients are placed on either a three, four or six month recare appointment schedule. Oral hygiene instructions are given at each appointment. We have many homecare devices that we recommend and demonstrate to our patients. We encourage our patients to schedule their next recare appointment before leaving our office.

Kodak Digital Radiography: We utilize the Kodak digital radiography system for all of our x-rays. Digital x-rays use much less radiation than standard film. We encourage our patients to have bitewing x-rays taken yearly and a full panoramic x-ray taken every three years.

Periodontal Disease Screening: Our patients are screened for periodontal disease at least once a year.

Oral Cancer Screening: Along with a clinical exam, our office utilizes the VelScope oral cancer screening system. The VelScope uses an ultraviolet light to look for the presence of abnormal tissue. If abnormal tissue if found, a biopsy is recommended. Treatment options depend on the biopsy results.

Treatment of periodontal disease: Periodontal treatment is done by our hygiene team. There are seven highly skilled hygienists in our office. We treat periodontal disease by thorough, deep cleanings called Root Debridement Therapy, localized antibiotic therapy (Arestin) and the Perio Protect method of delivering medicaments as needed. Patients’ periodontal pocketing is measured as well as recession and mobility that effects oral health.

Recession of the gum line: Many adult patients are diagnosed with recession of the gum line. Often this recession causes the tooth to become sensitive - especially to cold. We offer several different options for treating this topically including home fluoride gels, MI Paste for remineralization and fluoride varnishes.

Teens
Regular recare appointments: Regular recare appointments: We encourage our teenage patients to be seen at six month intervals and schedule their next recare appointment before leaving our office. This is especially important for the teen years when poor homecare, busy lives and poor eating habits are common.

Kodak Digital Radiography: We utilize the Kodak digital radiography system for all of our x-rays. Digital x-rays use much less radiation than standard film. We encourage our patients to have bitewing x-rays taken yearly and a full panoramic x-ray taken every three years.

Evaluation of third molars (wisdom teeth): With teens, it is important to be aware of the presence of wisdom teeth. Our Panoramic radiograph gives our doctors a picture of the location of these teeth and the need to have them removed.

Evaluation for orthodontic consulations: Teens are checked for the need of orthodontic care. We have an orthodontist in our office that we refer for orthodontic treatment.

Fluoride treatments: Teens are given a fluoride treatment at their appointments to make their teeth more resistant to decay. Occasionally, home fluoride is recommended if there is a high decay rate.

Sports Mouthguards: Teens are checked for the need of sports mouthguards. Sports mouthguards are very important. They protect the teeth and the fee is very reasonable for the amount of protection they provide. These are made in our office and can be delivered within a week.

Children
Special room for children's appointments: We have a special treat for the children that visit our office! We have a room especially designed and decorated for our small patients. Ashleigh is in charge of our pediatric program and the patients thoroughly enjoy their visit to her special room. When leaving patients are given a "goody bag" with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, flosser and a small toy!

Regular recare appointments: Regular recare appointments: We encourage parents to schedule their child's next six month recare appointment before leaving our office.

Kodak Digital Radiography: We utilize the Kodak digital radiography system for all of our x-rays. Digital x-rays use much less radiation than standard film. Bitewing x-rays are taken to check for cavities between teeth. Panoramic x-rays allow us to see if all the permanent teeth are in place to erupt properly.

Evaluation for orthodontics: Children are checked for the need of orthodontic care. We have an orthodontist in our office that we refer for orthodontic treatment.

Fluoride treatments: Children are given a fluoride treatment at their appointments to make their teeth more resistant to decay. Occasionally, home fluoride is recommended if there is a high decay rate.

Sealants on permanent molars: Children are evaluated for the need of dental sealants. Sealants are placed on the chewing surfaces of posterior permanent molars. The sealant seals the grooves in the teeth to help prevent decay. We usually recommend sealing all six year and twelve year molars.

Seniors
Regular recare appointments: We encourage our patients to schedule their next recare appointment before leaving our office. Geriatric patients are placed on either three, four or six month recare appointments. Oral hygiene instructions are given at each appointment and we have many homecare devices that we recommend and demonstrate to our patients.

Kodak Digital Radiography: We utilize the Kodak digital radiography system for all of our x-rays. Digital x-rays use much less radiation than standard film.

Periodontal Disease screening: Our geriatric patients are screened for periodontal disease at least once a year. Due to the lack of dexterity many times in older patients, our hygienists work with our patients to find the tools that enable them to have better homecare.

Oral cancer screening: Our office utilizes the VelScope oral cancer screening system. The VelScope uses an ultraviolet light to look for the presence of abnormal tissue. If abnormal tissue if found, a biopsy is recommended. Treatment options depend on the biopsy results.

Fluoride therapies: Geriatric patients are offered a fluoride treatment at their appointments to make their teeth more resistant to decay. Occasionally, home fluoride is recommended if there is a high decay rate.

Dry mouth and gums: As we age, our mouth becomes drier which increases our decay rate. Also, many medications can cause the patient to suffer from a dry mouth. We have products that help to alleviate the effect of this on the tissues in the mouth.
